What the games look like

Giant fest battles, in-character markets and post-apocalyptic wastelands: LARP covers a lot of ground.

How to pick your first game

New to LARP altogether? Read what is LARP? first, then your first LARP event.

Start close to home. A day game or small weekend club near you costs less and lets you find out whether you enjoy it before you buy kit or a festival ticket.

Read the new player page. Most systems have one. It tells you what to bring, how the rules work and whether you can borrow kit.

Think about monstering. Many games let you play the monsters and supporting characters (“crew”) for a cheaper ticket. It’s a great way to learn the rules and meet people.

Every link here was checked on the date shown on its card. Dates, prices and rules change, so always check the game’s own website before booking. Missing a game? Let me know.
